MapAbility

What Is MapAbility?

MapAbility is an open source and interactive map that disseminates all the data that Ability has collected on accessibility in the built environment. With a smart device and Internet, MapAbility can be accessed by any user wanting information on how accessible a particular building is in case they have a job interview, a training course or a medical appointment there. Or how accessible a street is before planning their journey across town or visiting a new city.

As Ability moves further into Africa and continues to put more accessibility data on MapAbility, it is important to highlight that its data is not only for people with disabilities. Extensive research and good practice around equitable mobility shows that when an environment is good for people with disabilities to use, it is automatically good for everyone.
